Sorry I have not explained in detail how to obtain these items or what not. Maybe someone that actually did bonecrafting can give some input. Better than nothing, information for leveling Bonecraft is nearly impossible and so, here it is! Enjoy!

I was going to post this when I had some spare time (very little now) anyway so your post makes things easier

Please note that the skill path that i'm about to write out is not necessarily the cheapest or the best but the one i'm currently working on. Mainly because i'm crosscrafting.


1-4:
Bone Hairpins: Bone Chip + Wind Crystal

This recipe is relatively cheap since it only uses one Bone Chip. You can easily farm them with a level 25+ character near the entrance area of Gusgen Mines. Just sell them to NPCs.

4-9:
Bone Arrowheads: 2 Bone Chip + Wind Crystal

As long as you don't mind spending the gil on the bone chips or farming for them, this is still relatively cheap. You can sell these on the AH if you want or use them to crosscraft and raise Woodworking a bit.

9-17:
Bone Ring: Bone Chip + Sheep Tooth + Wind Crystal

I don't remember if Chicken Bones were stackable or not but I started making the Bone Rings at 9 because getting Bone Chips and Sheep Teeth is much easier then getting the Chicken Bones needed to make Gelatin. I just sold em to the NPC to get most of the investment back.

17-25:
Beetle Ring: Beetle Jaw + Wind Crystal

I can honestly say that this will hurt your gil supply unless you can stand farming for the jaws. If you're lucky and are fighting beetles for EXP, you can ask your party if you can lot on them so you can gain skill from it. You can sell them off on the AH if you don't mind going at a slow rate. I just sold mine to the NPC though since I was hurrying through this.

25-29:
Horn Hairpin: Ram Horn + Wind Crystal

I actually started on this at around 22-23 since hunting rams for their horns is MUCH easier then hunting beetles for their jaws. However, if you can manage to buy them for around 500-1000 gil, you can sell them back to the Guild NPC for some profit.

Alternate 22-28:
Gelatin: Giant Femur + Distilled Water + Fire Crystal

If you don't mind farming for the Femurs, this is a nice skillpath ^^

29-33:
Beetle Arrowheads: Beetle Jaw + Bone Chip + Wind Crystal

These will sell quite nicely on the AH (especially in San d'Oria) since woodworkers go through 7-10 skill level worth. If you're into crosscrafting like me, you'll want to use them to raise your own woodworking and sell off any extras (or use them if you're a RNG).

33-37:
Horn Ring: Ram Horn + Fish Scales + Wind Crystal

Same as the Horn Hairpins but just needs Fish Scales for the recipe. The scales are relatively cheap so it's not a big problem.

37-43:
Horn Arrowheads: Ram Horn + Bone Chip + Wind Crystal

Same as beetle arrowheads pretty much.

43-45:
Carapace Mask: Crab Shell + Dhalmel Leather + Earth Crystal
Or
Horn: Ram Horn + Beetle Jaw + Wind Crystal

Both don't sell too well on the AH unless there are a lot of BRDs on your server. Even then, I doubt the Horn would sell fast. I plan to just sell them to the NPC. By the way, making the Horn can take you up to 47.

45-53:
Scorpion Arrowheads: Scorpion Claw + Bone Chip + Wind Crystal

I don't remember if you lose gil on this or not but woodcrafters tend to skillgain off Scorpion Arrows. I'm not going to start them at skill 43 because I want more successes when making them.

53-60:
Scorpion Ring: Scorpion Shell + Wind Crystal

This is a slow and tedius as well as expensive but still the cheapest to skill on at this point. Your best bet is to get Lightning Moghancement and try to desynth the Rings back into Shells after.

if memory serves you can excivate most of the items you need in tharongi canyon just pack some picks out with you and find you one of them big old skelitons that are around that area and look for mining points.

that's HQ, when your skill is high enough you get a better chance of turning something into +1. It's totally random. I would also like to ask, when can you switch to horn hairpins. The beetle jaws are really taking a bite out of my gil supply T_T

I'm on Valefor too, and I can attest to this as well. I've been trying to work out some trades with woodcrafters, but nothing has panned out so far.

I did Horn Rings from 33 to 36, and Fang Arrowheads from 36 to 38, and that's where I sit now. I think I'm going to farm some more bone chips and hope to get some ram horns, and do the Horn Arrowheads till the skill caps.

The walnut lumber is like 2000 a piece, so this recipe will be really pricey.

Know.. i must be a freak or something, but i made 12 bone knives at skill 36 and got up to 38, and im already making Caraprace Masks, now from 38, they net me 1.2k gil profit (AH sales) or a 500 loss to vendor (not a bad rate)

So i recomend 38 - 45 - Carapace Mask

What level can you get the glasses? Because I'm not into guilding for profit, I'm in it for the glasses. Yeah, I'm stupid enough to waste an insane amount of gil for a piece of equipment that helps me do something I didn't wanna do in the first place.

once you hit skill 43, i recomend going STRAIGHT to scorpian arrowheads, they cost like,.. 1700 to make, sell for 2000 (on my server)

and sell.. FAST.. i can stress how fast, its great,.. profitable too

Congrats Sarius! Now, which city's AH is selling them the quickest I'm guessing Sandy.

I've been working on leathercraft, trying to get it to 9, and then I was going to vary up the bonecraft synths so I could gain more leathercraft skill plus bonecraft, but I might just go with the straight shot on bonecrafting tonight and tomorrow.

Just a tidbit of info, I've spent 150k gil and I'm at 25 Bonecraft. Mainly because I've purchased all my materials from AH/Guild and havne't farmed. If you have the wind crystals I'd say that'd be about 50-75k of the expendeture taken care of. Still quite a ways off from the glasses though.

Just a bump, but Bonecraft has now costed 400k and I'm at 43 skill. Just an update for those interested in raising it without knowing the investment.

Wind Crystals are 1500 a stack, Ram Horns are 1500 each, Bone Chip Stacks are 1400. Just some info from the Phoenix Server.
