Killing Ifrit's Code of Conduct

Welcome to Killing Ifrit, an ever-growing community of active and non-active Final Fantasy XI enthusiasts, hosted by the Kill Void network. Here, you'll be able to discuss with other users on a various number of topics. This forum is a community forum, so it is important that users treat each other with respect and courtesy. Everyone has his or her own views and opinions, as well as the equal opportunity to share them with others. Users are expected to keep this in mind and to act accordingly during their access to the Killing Ifrit boards.


The following guidelines and rules explain what is expected of you and what behavior you can expect from other community members. Note that the following guidelines cannot include all possible offensive behaviors that comes up when interacting on Killing Ifrit, so it is up to the designated forum moderators to address any behavior that they feel is inappropriate. For all cases, a moderator will have full discretion on the topic. If you believe a user is violating the Code of Conduct, please use the "Report to a Moderator" link on the offending post or user's profile page.
Your access to these forums is a "privilege," and not a "right." Killing Ifrit staff members reserve the right send an informal warning, give a formal warning, suspend your access to these forums temporarily, or ban all access to the forums permanently, at any time for reasons that include, but are not necessarily limited to, your failure to abide by the following guidelines:

1. Racial/Ethnic/Sexual Orientation
Users are expected to respect others' racial, ethnic, and sexual status/orientation. Promoting racial/ethnic/sexual orientation hatred, using corresponding slurs to insult and/or degrade, or alluding to a symbol of such said hatred is prohibited.

2. Real-Life Threats
Users will be expected to refrain from posting threats directed at any user(s) that refer to violence in any form or nature to any extent that is not directly related to the forums.

3. Distribution of Others' Personal Information
Releasing any information regarding any one else's personal information about the real life or forum account specifics without prior consent is prohibited. This includes phone numbers, addresses, passwords, all private messages etc. If the released information is public knowledge prior to the incident and is presented unmodified in any manner, it may not be against this rule, depending on the case.

4. Malicious Programs/Warez
Posting or linking to malicious viruses/programs, illegal programs, or information that helps attain mentioned programs is not allowed under any circumstances, whatsoever.

5. Moderator Interaction
Forum moderators are here to keep the board clean, safe, and secure. Users are expected to treat all moderators and members of the Killing Ifrit staff with respect. Inappropriate behavior directed towards the moderators will not be tolerated.

6. Wrongful Account Creation
Users are allowed to register only one account on Killing Ifrit. Users that create multiple accounts, create an account to impersonate someone else or a Killing Ifrit staff member, or create an "anonymous" account to post inappropriately will be removed appropriately.

7. Obscene/Vulgar Behavior and Content
Posting material containing inappropriate references or links to human anatomy or bodily functions or are pornographic in nature will not be tolerated. Excessive use of vulgar/inappropriate language that is considered by the moderators as objectionable will also not be tolerated. Killing Ifrit is a work-safe board; If any image is considered unsafe to view at work or at school, it does not belong here.

8. Harassment
Harassing another user is prohibited. However, the nature of harassment is very fluid and it is up to the moderators' discretion on whether or not a remark is considered harassment. Flames, rants, and insults will generally not be considered harassment. If another user is following you around on the forums and/or constantly and consistently insulting you, this may be considered harassment. If this is the case, discuss it with the harasser over PM or email before contacting a moderator about it. Posting images of users in a harassing fashion is prohibited. Keep in mind that moderators have the final say on the distinction between harassment and normal sass.

9. Bad Posting Behavior
Bad posting behavior includes the actions of Spamming, Trolling, Derailing, Quote-Training, and Necrobumping, and is prohibited. Excessively posting the same phrase, similar phrases, something completely void of any contributing meaning, or is of extreme low content, is prohibited. Creating new threads or replying to existing threads for the sole purpose of causing disturbances on the forums is also prohibited. The same goes for making off-topic posts that ruin the thread and posts containing images with such said spam phrases. Threads or posts created that have been severely affected by the previously said actions will be locked or removed from view.

10. Advertising
Posting links or creating posts for personal profit or illegal materials will not be tolerated. The exchange of FFXI items and services for legal tender (Real Money), is prohibited. The exchange of forum or FFXI accounts, for any reason using the services Killing Ifrit provides is also prohibited.

11. Image Use
The use of images on Killing Ifrit is allowed, however, there are a few restrictions. If a thread is created solely for the main purpose of sharing images, you are expected to keep them in their respective forum categories. Posting large irrelevant images in threads is prohibited. All images should be work-safe; Images cannot be of pornographic or harassing nature.

Killing Ifrit Signatures - Template Image
Signature images must not exceed 550 pixels wide by 250 pixels high and be under 80 KB. Signatures themselves can occupy a space of up to 600 pixels wide by 400 pixels high. Any signatures and signature images that occupy a larger space then said dimensions will be removed or shortened accordingly to a moderator's discretion.

12. Appropriate Thread Posting
Users are expected to use their best discretion when deciding to post new topics.

13. Access Privileges
Use of this site is a privilege given to you, not a right. Violation of Kill Void’s Terms of Use, Killing Ifrit’s Code of Conduct, or copyright infringements may result in your removal from the network and/or loss of access privileges. The Kill Void Network is a private network, and your account may be terminated at any time, at The Kill Void Network's sole discretion. Any behavior that is meant to harm or wrongly modify the network infrastructure is prohibited and also illegal. Users involved in such activities will be permanently banned and will be reported to your network provider(s). We also reserve the right to pursue legal action in such cases. Continuing to access, or attempting to access, after your access has been terminated may be considered computer trespass.


To recap, failure to abide by the previous rules will lead to a warning or a banning of access to the website. Both are issued depending on the severity of the matter at hand that is determined by the moderator that is moderating that particular case at that particular time. If the breach of this code of conduct is severe enough, a user may be banned without any prior notice. Using a proxy to access or attempt to access Killing Ifrit after being IP banned will be considered computer trespass and appropriate actions will follow, to a moderator’s discretion. Moderators have final say in any and all matters.

The Kill Void Network or Killing Ifrit may add to, change or remove any part of the Code of Conduct at any time, without notice.
Any changes to the Code of Conduct or any terms posted on this site apply as soon as they are posted. By continuing to access this site, you are indicating your acceptance to this Code of Conduct.


All in all, Killing Ifrit is a free community that is for the users. You can interact with thousands of other posters at any given time, with a plethora of topics to discuss. Remember that this forum is “all in good fun” and that there are many different types of people who enjoy these services. While you may not agree with them on all stances, together as a whole can we interact and have a great time.
