Chapter 5.3 - Three Paths
Similar to Chapter 3's double forks, you can progress on the 3 separate forks simultaneously.
M 5-3A Tenzen Path
Click on the the ??? spot at (G-6) in La Theine Plateau for a cutscene. (the same '???" as Carbuncle)
*Note* Cutscene must be one with Tenzen in it, not the cutscene for the 18 person avatar battles.
Go to the tower closest to Fei'Yin (J-8) to enter the Lv.50 capped PsoXja.
Check the Stone Doors and eventually a trap may activate which spawns a Gargolye.
If the Gargolye spawns, you have to kill it to open the door. Make sure everyone in your party get thru the door when it's opened, because you wont be able to open it from the other side. There are total of 16 doors you have to get thru before you reach the elevator. Cast sneak and take the elevator down to the Avatar Gate for a cutscene.
Go to the Upper Jeuno infirmary and talk to Monberaux (G-10). Go to the armory room in Ru'Lude Palace and talk to the guard, and then go back to Upper Jeuno and talk to Monberaux again.
Head to Battalia Downs. Walk out to the stone gates and turn left just beside the gate. You will find a "???" on the ground. Check it for a cutscene.
After the cutscene, check the ??? mark again to get a Key Item.
Next head to Lower Delkuft Tower, 1st floor, and check the Cermet Gate at (H-5) to spawn a NM. (no level cap on this NM)
Quote Jinshia: "this NM shouldnt be taken lightly"
From Auraeon: "The Disaster Idol in Lower Delkfutts Tower for Promathia Mission 5-3 can be solo'd by a level 75 SMN (I did it) using Carbuncle to tank it for you. You run a little bit away from the Disaster Idol and wait for Carbuncle to die, then resummon and Carbuncle will automatically run to the Idol and attack it for you, just keep doing this till its dead, shouldn't take more than 20 minutes.
I'm thinking a Vermillion Cloak, Dalmatica, or Yinyang robe is essential, because you have to keep Stoneskin and Blink up between resummons, and you need the auto-refresh with Carbuncle out."
After defeating the NM check the Gate again for a CS
Note: If a party member dies, as long as the NM was killed while theyre in party, they can still get the CS. If a party memeber forgets to so a part (ie: skips 5-3A4) they do not need to defeat the NM again.
Head to Beaucidine again and go to the tower nearest to the Battalia Downs exit (H-10) Lv.60 capped PsoXja for a cutscene. After the cutscene, put sneak and invisible up and head down to examine Avatar Gate. You will see Goblins, Bats and Magic Pots, so bring some Silent Oil and Prism Powder just in case even you are a mage. After this, report back to Cid to end this route.
M 5-3B Ulmia Path
Go to South San d'Oria (A-6) Trader's Manor and talk to Hinaree.
Enter Port San d'Oria for a cutscene.
Go to the Cathedral at North San d'Oria and talk to Chasalvige inside the manuscript room. Then go to the Rhinostary in Windurst Waters and talk to Kerutoto. Then go to Windurst Walls and talk to Yoran-Oran.
You will be told to go to Attohwa Chasm to find the 3 Tracker Mithras. They are waiting at the Bone Gully Burning Circle. This is a Lv.50 capped Burning Circle fight with three Shikaree Mithras. Because of their Weapon Skills, your party might die pretty fast without being organized. It will be best if you can Sleepga but only Shikaree Z has a higher probability of being slept. At the beginning of the battle have a PLD attack at Shikaree Z first and use Invincible to get hate and let the Summoner use Astral Flow (use the Avatar according to the elemental day) on the 5 mobs. This should reduce their HP to more than half. A Siredon Grill would stop the Mithra to halt TP regen. Summoners should restore MP with Hi-Ethers or Super Ethers and use Astral Flow again. This should kill Shikaree Z and the 2 pet summons, leaving Shikaree X and Y. If the Summoner can use Astral Flow again, go for it. Bring a lot of Hi-Potions for this fight.
Next you have to go to Ulegerand Range to reach Bearclaw Pinnacle for another Burning Circle fight. To go to Bearclaw Pinnacle, go west through the first cave and you will reach a wide open area with a slope with some Buffalo mobs. Somewhere around (J-10) there is a hole on the ground. Drop down that hole and walk east initially. You will come to a T-shape intersection, go north.
Bear Pinnacle Burning Circle is a Lv.60 capped fight.
You are given 45 seconds to defeat the bomb, similar to the timb bomb BCNM. The bomb will grow in size 3 times before it explodes. You need to do lots of damage fast. A Shu-Meyu Salt will increase the time limit by 15 seconds. SAMs and RNGs are good for this, have them spam their Weapon Skills.
After the fight, go back to Cid and report to him.
M 5-3C Louverance Path
Go to Tavnazian Safehold and talk with Despachiaire.
Go to Windurst Woods and talk to Perih Vashai (K-7).
Go to Bibiki Bay and take the ManaClipper to Purgonorgo Isle and go to the south bay (H-11) where you'll find a NPC WarMachine. Check it for a cutscene.
Before you proceed further, each party member should go to Movalpolos Newton to get a Gold Key (Rare) from Goblin Fireman or Goblin Packman (Easy Prey to Lv.75).
Next go back to Windurst Walls and talk with Yoran-Oran.
Then go to Movalpolos Oldton to activate another cutscene. Head to (K-10) where you can see the NPC moblins and the Rusty Levers. If you have a Snow Lily (under: Materials/Alchemy), you can trade it to Tarnotik NPC moblin on the left who will warp you directly to the Burning Circle entrance. This only applies to the person using it, not the whole party. If someone doesn't have a Snow Lily, you need to get 3 people to activate the 3 levers at the same time to raise the bridge to cross to Movalpolos Newton and use at least 3 Firesand items to activate the Furnace to turn the Turnstile Gates for the party to reach the Burning Circle. Snow Lilys can be obtained from Ulegerand Tigers or Cwn Awwn dogs at Ulegerand Range.
Shaft 2716 Lv.60 cap Burning Circle.
Head to Metalworks and talk to Cid
Head back to Mine Shaft 2716, and trade a Gold Key to the Mine Shaft Entrance.
Return to Cid
